LinkQuest - Press Release - January 8, 2005

LinkQuest sells two TrackLink Systems is ISE

LinkQuest Inc. recently announced the sale of two deepwater TrackLink 5000 USBL systems to International Submarine Engineering Ltd, Port Coquitlam, Canada. A TrackLink 5000HA system will be installed on the Explorer AUV purchased by the University of Southern Mississippi with funds from NOAA. This AUV will support NOAA's need to explore, map and characterize deep-ocean habitats, from polar seas to deep-sea oil and gas seeps in the Gulf of Mexico. A second TrackLink 5000 system will be installed on another deepwater AUV produced by ISE for the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.

The TrackLink 5000 systems utilize advanced Broadband Acoustic Spread Spectrum technology. They are well suited for deepwater AUV positioning, navigation and communication. The TrackLink 5000 systems can reach operational range of 4000 to 5000 meters depending on the selection of transponders. These TrackLink 5000 systems have proven track records in deepwater operations and have been used to track various underwater vehicles up to the water depth of 3850 meters in IFE's recent expedition "Return to Titanic". Both TrackLink systems sold to ISE include state-of-the-art integrated high speed underwater acoustic modems. These modems were installed on several Hugin 3000 deepwater AUV's and the Echo Ranger AUV. A single pair of modems used on a Hugin 3000 AUV set a world record in uploading more than 30 Gbytes of AUV status and image data during three years of operation.
