Oceaneering - News - November 17, 2004

Oceaneering successfully completed an 18-mile single well subsea tieback for Newfield Exploration in early November that features an UTA-mounted, electrically piloted hydraulic (EPH) control pod. The new well is located in GB-208 in 1,250 fsw and is connected to an existing host platform in VR-398 in 450 fsw.

On a turnkey basis, Oceaneering engineered the tieback, providing equipment manufactured by Oceaneering that included the extended reach EPH control system, chemical injection system, control umbilical and all of the connection hardware for the project. The Ocean Intervention DP-2 MSV with onboard Hydra® Maxximum 300 hp ROV system successfully installed the 4-1/2" coiled tubing pipeline, the umbilical and system connection hardware.
