SMDH awarded contract
by COOEC to provide a Quark Ultra Compact 75HP
workclass ROV system.
SMD Hydrovision is pleased to announce the sale
of a Quark ROV system to Offshore Oil Engineering
Co. Ltd (COOEC) of P.R. China.
The Quark is an ultra compact 75hp workclass
ROV which is powered and controlled using the
SMD Hydrovision Curvetech range of ROV building
blocks. The Curvetech range of products has an
enviable track record for high performance and
reliability and new high efficiency thrusters
and intelligent valve packs controlled by a distributed
control system has reduced size and weight of
the ROV and improved performance. The low drag
of the compact ROV and the high power of the Curvetech
thrusters will allow COOEC to operate the system
in areas of high current.
All parts of the system, including the compact
Launch and Recovery System (LARS), are designed
and manufactured by SMD Hydrovision.
The Quark is the most compact workclass ROV system
available and SMD Hydrovision can also supply
the Quasar medium size workclass ROV system and
the larger Quantum construction class ROV system.
SMD Hydrovision is the world’s largest
independent manufacturer of underwater vehicles
and can offer standard or bespoke designs of state-of-the-art
workclass ROV systems and plough or jetting/trench
cutting machines for burial of subsea cable or
pipeline for the Oil and Gas, telecom, military
and scientific markets. Surface equipment handling
systems and Curvetech intelligent hydraulic assemblies,
control system assemblies and robotic tooling
systems can also be provided.
