Subsea 7 IRT award from BP

Subsea 7’s Integrated Remote Technologies (IRT) division, today, announced the first work to be performed under the new ROV services federal contract, awarded to Subsea 7 by BP Exploration Operating Company in October of this year. This work order is valued in the region of $2M and will run for 12 months from the first quarter of 2005.

The workscope will include the provision of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and associated services onboard the Transocean Rather mobile drilling unit. The majority of tooling for the project will be provided in-house by BP, for which Subsea 7 hold the maintenance contract. The drilling unit is to be located in the West of Shetland.

Vice President for Subsea 7 IRT, Ian Cobban, commented, “We are delighted with this award and to be of service to BP once again, which we believe further demonstrates our capability as a leading subsea services provider”.
