-Seaeye
Panther ROV Systems are depth rated to
1500 metres and were the first of a new
generation of electric powered work ROVs.
A Panther is able to carry out many of
the tasks previously carried our by conventional
hydraulic powered work vehicles that are
larger, heavier and invariably more costly.
-Powered
by four vectored and two vertical SM5
brushless DC thrusters, the Panther is
the ideal vehicle for Survey operations,
for which it is fully interfaced, or for
drill support in the offshore oil and
gas industry. For operations in stronger
currents where greater thrust is required,
Seaeye offer the Panther Plus with an
additional 4 vectored SM5 thrusters.
-The remarkably
low weight of this powerful ROV has been
achieved by the extensive use of plastics
and composite materials including two
carbon fibre electronics pods and a Seaeye
obsession for maximising the power to
weight ratio of their vehicles.
-A basic
ROV system comprises the Vehicle, a Surface
Control Unit, a Hand Controller and a
Power Supply Unit. The surface unit and
PSU can be supplied free standing or containerised.
The Control Container can be Zone II rated
or rated for safe area operations and
can be air conditioned.
-Although
free swimming operations are possible
with up to 300 metres of tether this ROV
is normally deployed using a Seaeye Panther
Tether Management System (TMS) to minimise
the effect of current on the vehicle's
performance. The TMS is a garage with
a bale arm and 150 metre capacity of tether.
We try
to provide the most up to date, recent
specifications on these ROV systems. However,
ROV system specifications are changing
all the time, so please double check with
the manufacturer to insure the specifications
are correct before making a decision in
using or purchasing these systems. |
