-Centaur truly provides a cost-effective alternative to traditional cable maintenance systems, by delivering all the advantages of a purpose built trencher without any purpose built support requirements. Sonsub’s new Centaur Wet-Mateable Trenching System, capable of trenching cables up to 200mm in diameter in 2000 meters of water, delivers all the performance of a track based trencher and a free-swimming ROV, in just one dive. Sonsub’s entire fleet of Innovator ROV’s mate underwater with Centaur’s trenching skid. Shared power and control systems enable a successful evolution into a machine that is both a trencher and an ROV. A track-based work platform enables unique power sharing between the trenching skid and the Innovator ROV, enhancing trenching
performance and optimising efficiency at 20m or 2000m.
